Tip: start with the pizzas, it's easier, then move to the bars. My 8-year-old got the hang of it in one afternoon and is already adding fractions without noticing she's studying.
My son plays with the book on his own. He builds the pizzas, checks the answer key on the page and comes show me when he gets it right. Very well made material.
